Thumbs up Back in the Game

Well, I'm back in a CTD guys!!!! Sold my old 12V in late 07, then went to a Duramax (had zero problems with it by the way). I was back in one in late '16 with a 2010, 3500, 4x4,...…..that was summarily totaled in March '17 (not my fault) , followed by a forced job retirement. Was not in NEED of a Diesel, but as we all know, need and want concerning a CTD is hard to define .

I have been on a steady hunt for a 3rd or 4th gen, but prices are absolutely crazy in Texas (everywhere really). Stumbled on a 2004, 2500 Quad Cab 4x4, that was local to me. Original owner, very elderly couple, 104,750 original miles , ZERO Mods, towed a 37' fifth wheel 4 or 5 times. Down side: They were smokers. He loved to hunt, and drove around A LOT on his hunting lease....truck needs an aggressive detail and wax. It is the 305 HP / 555 TQ, 48RE, but a late 2003 build date (09/03), so no cat to worry about!!!! I never got a chance to jump into the Tuner wars with my 2010, so looking forward to finding out about the latest and greatest for my new to me 305 HO!!!!!

Same thing happened to me...I searched in a 500 mile radius for a suitable replacement for my beloved 2003...No joy until I found a 2009 less than five miles away...Congrats on your find!......Ben

Funny how things work, isn't it? I had sold my 12-valve several years back, and I'd sort of resolved that I'd be going with gassers. After finding out that no, a half ton wasn't going to cut it, I bought a 3/4 ton Super Duty. Of course, then the truck in my signature comes online...local. Hemmed & hawed over pursuing it, but finally the fact that it was almost exactly what I wanted convinced me that I didn't want to pass it up and regret it later.
