Auxillary Back Up Lights
Hey,
I own a 2007 (5.9L) Mega. Anyways, I wanted to put some aux. reverse lights on the back...but the way the Dodge is designed, it looks like options with mounting are out the door. I didnt want to drill through my bumper.
Anyone with ideas ? Pictures would help too...
Thanks in advance. BTW- The lights I want to install are about 1.5 inches high x 6 inches long.

Yeah, I've seen the "white night" before...not a bad set up, but I have the lights already and can't really justify spending 75 plus dollars on another set up....
I think I will lay undernieth the back of the truck for an hour or two and I'll see if anything pops up in my mind

I had a pair of white nights on a previous truck, they were all right, but cheap quality. Just put on these KC reverse lights. Took a bolt out of the bumper bracket on each side and put the KC bracket there. Lights sit right up underneath the bumper. Here are some pics, sorry about the quality. I am very satisfied with these lights.

Mine are set up like this, but you can use some L brackets from Lowes etc. that will mount on the stock bumper bolts. They are out of sight, and about 50 bucks cheaper.

I went with light gauge steel cut and drilled to fit the bumper brackets, cost just a few bucks from Lowes. A set of Hella Micro DE clear fog lights aimed down and out really allow good visibility of my trailer tires while backing up.
Coming from an underdash relay, they are wired with 16/2 orange outdoor extention cord, which is already double insulated so no additional wire loom is needed. Zip tie the cord down the left frame rail with the factory loom.
I didn't like using just a switch to control the lights as I might accidentally hit it in the daytime and never know it until pretty red and blue lights show up behind me. So, the primary side of the relay is controlled by a dash mounted switch which is fed by the Cargo Lamp switch, so that both Cargo Lamp and my extra dash switch both must be on to light the rear lamps.
Nice to have an extra light on the dashboard to let me know the Cargo Lamp is on.

coparam has a great idea. The problem I see with any of them that hang below the bumper is knocking them off. Backing into a ditch or snowbank. Short of custom bumpers, I don't have any better ideas
