Anyone who has recently purchased a new truck

My dad is tossing around the idea of getting a new '08 CTD 4x4 QC. Currently the stealerships are offering the $2.99 fuel deal, but outside of that, how much are the dealers bending on the sticker price these days?

A BUNCH.

Seriously, check out the big boys, Dave Smith, etc.

There was someone who just posted their local dealers were quoting quad cab 4X4 bighorns for 32K.

I paid $31k and some change for a 08 QC 4x4 CTD. I can't recall how much off the sticker that was, but it was a BUNCH! IMO, the $4,500 off the MSRP beats the $2.99 fuel offer if you have to choose one over the other.

Yup, You either get the fuel or the rebates. I could have sworn I heard a commercial that said the fuel thing did not apply to SRT Models and Diesels though. Maybe I'm wrong......

I believe its the lifetime warranty that is excluded on diesels and SRT's

The dealer I bought mine from is now offering an addition $1 off the gas (or diesel). So they are offering it for $1.99. They are the only dealership around here, that I know of, that is offering it this low.

My truck listed at $49,390 and I walked out the door at $33,283.73

I'm happy with that.

I would be very surprised, at this point, if a dealer lets you walk away from buying a diesel....if that is what you're looking for. I would think that as long as they will turn a profit, no matter how small, they would be thrilled to get it off their lot. In a way, I kinda wish I had waited a little longer to buy. I would think you could get a great deal right now.

Read the news quote on that page:

News: the manual transmission has officially been dropped, according to a Chrysler representative.

The dealer ask me what I would pay. I told him $14,000 less than the 54,000 sticker... He said -- Write the check -- I did.....

Just curious, but are you guys trading in trucks as well or walking in fresh with no trade? It would be nice to get a new truck for $10k off the sticker and trade my old one in....
