I'm sick and tired of dealing with the service departments in NW Arkansas. I get conflicting information from them (they're FOS) on a speedometer reconfiguration. I went up to 285's and the dealers that I'm talking with state that they need revs per mile, diameter of tires, etc...

On '06 trucks the only other option of the ECM is 285/70 (no tire measurements are needed)....needing measurements of the tires in order to correct the speedometer stopped in '05. It's not hard to do but the dealerships are either lying to make it seem like a larger task so they can justify charging me $80 or they don't know what they're talking about.

Does anyone know of a good honest dealer in Arkansas that is worth dealing with and won't charge $80 flippin dollars to perform a 10 minute task?

I travel all over the state so wherever the dealer is at will be ok. Either reply in this thread or shoot me a PM. Thanks.

I live in Springdale. Springdale Dodge and Lewis Chrysler wanted $80 to do the simple task. I called Fletcher Dodge in Bentonville today and the diesel tech was at lunch....the fella I spoke with said that when the diesel tech gets back that he would call me.....he never called back with a price.

The dealerships act as if the customer should be happy to let THEM work on your truck. So far, my dealings with the NW Arkansas Dodge dealerships suck. I've dealt with different ferd dealerships in the past and have nothing but good to say about them.

 

springdale dodge wanted $80 for that? I just got them to do my high idle the other day on the star scan. Fayetteville wanted to charge me $40 for that. I might be wrong but I think they can adjust that on the star scan. I told them I needed my high idle enabled b/c my truck wouldnt idle strong in the mornings.....basically I made it sound like warranty and they did it for no charge or paper work. He did it in the parking lot and he let me go through the list of all the options on it letting me add anything I wanted. I cant remember the guys name but he is the only one certified at springdale to use the star scan.

 

Yep, they wanted $80. Springdale Dodge has undergone some personnel changes in the service dept. recently. They had a pretty good crew in there when I bought my truck back in November, but those guys are no longer there. The service manager is a new guy....the other guy went to work for Superior in Siloam Springs.

Kinda stinks to not have a service dept. nearby that I like doing business with. Lewis Chrysler isn't any better than Springdale Dodge.

 

Have you called phil yet at diesel injector service to see if they can do it.

Breeden Dodge in Fort Smith (where I live) did it for me for free, but I bought the truck from them. I called them just now and the guy said 20 bucks.
