annoying dinger fix on wiki article links

Found this on the wiki site, under articles up above, and tried it out. Didn't get a chime after shutting off the engine. Has anyone else tried this. I'm wondering if it works on 2003?

Seatbelt Chime and Back-Up Honk Feature TURN OFF
Original Write Up By dodgeram dude

Many of you 3rd Gen Owners are tired of that "Saftey" feature we know as that "Annoying Dingger" Well Here is the Cut and Dry method on how to get rid of that chime.

Here's the procedure...

1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any position except ON or START, buckle the driver's seat belt.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the seat belt warning light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

Doing as described has no affect on my 2005 QC. However, if in Step #3 the vehicle is NOT started, but the key is just turned to ON, the process works, to a point. The seat belt chime is disabled and the seat belt warning light remains lit so long as the belt is unbuckled. OK, so what; I wear my seatbelt.

Unfortunately, the horn still bleats once when entering Reverse with the door open.

The seat belt chime disabling process has no apparent effect on the horn. I'm not surprised, however. The seat belt warning chime turn-off is documented in the Owner's Manual and I'd be surprised if DC piggybacked disabling this horn blowing "safety" "feature" onto another process. Keep looking, guys.

I hate that horn/reverse *safety* feature.
