I had an agreement with the dealer to give me some items at dealer cost when I picked up my new truck. He said he couldn't save me any money on a service manual and I would have to order direct from DC . Skid plate, hooks, slush mats, mud flaps etc. would be 10% off retail. He wants $495 to install the protection group. (I had to cut it when it was holding up the manufacturing of the truck.) He would sell me Line-X at almost his regular price.
Does anyone know what dealer cost should be on these items? I still haven't filled out my Customer Satisfaction Report so I may have a little leverage.

 

As far as the Line-X, My dealer quoted me $700 for over the rail.
I called my local Line-X installer (the same guy the dealer uses I found out ) and was quoted $475 for the same job.
That's alot of money for a lot-jockey to drive my truck 5 miles each way to get it installed.
As for the other accessories, You might want to check a few web-based vendors to compare prices.
You might do better on line than with the "discount"

 

When I bought my truck and had the Rhino installed the dealer suggested that I pay Rhino direct. They took and picked up the truck at Rhino. Can't remember what I paid but think it was just over $400 for over the rail. Had them remove the tie downs for the work and reinstall them afterwards. Hate sticky tie dows. I also ordered the service manual and they gave it to me at dealer cost and had it in the truck when I picked it up. This was part of the deal before I signed the order and they did not give me an argument about this.

 

I have found dodgeparts.com to be cheaper than my wholesale account at the local ***********.

 

there is an incredible amount of mark up in bed liners. i got my line-x done for $320, by using a friends commercial account with the line-x dealer.
