Alum vs. chromed steel wheels on 2500

Is it just me, or does anyone else prefer the look of the chromed steel wheels over the aluminum? To me, the chromed just look better, especially on the Laramie, with the chrome-looking accents. IMHO, the center caps on the aluminum look more "plastic-y" on the trucks at the dealership.

I wish the wheel design was nicer anyway. I guess if I go with the chromed steel, I won't feel like I'm losing much if I decide to go aftermarket.

Thanks,
David

dcorneli,

I settled on the aluminum wheels but I don't think they look that good. I'm going to put on H2 Hummer wheels. I little work but they look better and are cheap. I may switch back and forth for off road trips and highway use.

I'd like to see those Hummer rims on the Ram. Make sure to get some pics when you do the conversion.
FWIW I think the 2nd gen aluminum rims and the Ferd rims are much better looking than any option on the 3rd gen Dodge.

I like the aluminum rims. If you get them I have the chrome steel ones that I will gladley trade you. I have had after market steel wheels with mud tires on so my factory wheels and tires are barely used. .

Hey, dcorneli, if you end up with alum wheels I'd be more than happy to trade you for my chromed steelies. I'm in Charlotte, and would be willing to come to you!

VPI and Rob. Thanks for your offers. But, being that I'm ordering, I'll save $100 by just opting for the steel wheels.

Thanks for all the replies.
