Almost Bit...

We are to p/u a new 08 tomorrow, but after looking at what I have in this one, I'm not sure it would be worth it or if I would really gain anything by gong new.
The new motor has good power and the 6spd is nice...but I'm not sure.

We test drove a new DuraSmack too. It was nice, road well, great interior and seats but just seemed to be sluggish and my wife thought something was wrong with it when she heard the fan ...

Any thoughts out there pro or con??
Thanks Folks.

They get horable mpg if you are towing a traller, because of the new DPF.

I was in the same boat a while age. What I did was start a spreadsheet with the mods I wanted to do to my 06. Then compare that to the total coat of the new truck, plus any additional goodies and see what is the best way to go. Anyone care to take bets and which way wiskeyVI goes?

BINGO!!!
What little I've do thus far to my 06 and what it woupd take time wise and $$ just to get a new one to that point is crazy.

From what I've been thinking and from what I've seen others trucks with some basic mods, I'm not far from having it justt he way I want it....

Themain reason I was looking at the GMs is for the ride. My wife has had two back surgeries and the last one didn't go to well. The Dodge rides like a truck. The Bilstiens, BFGs and seat mods have helped, but it's still hard on here to ride for a couple of days straight.

I love dodge but wait till next year. To many of my friends that have bought the 08 are having problems with that new fangled emissions that Dodge put on them. Hopefully next year, they will have worked out the bugs.

you've got an '06 and looking to get into an '08 ????

ummm why cause you have to have new.... if you '06 even broke in?

New vehicles seldom justify the cost especially in a diesel motor. You'll by new only to leave the lot and loose money.

mod you '06 and get what you need and more there.

Keep what ya got and upgrade the tranny. I was thinking about the same thing. I kept what I have and did the tranny. Very glad that I did. It is a totally different truck almost like I bought a new one. I liked the new trucks but, I haven't got all my money out of this one yet and it will be several more years down the road before I even come close.

I can see why he might need to trade for something that rides better for the wifey's bad back. That being said,it hurts me to ride in my truck for long periods and I've never had back surgery! The Ram definently rides like a truck!

The driving force was originally for the ride quality. I bought the truck just after her last surgery, and she was doing better then.

May check into some of the aftermarket progressive suspensions to smoothe it out some.
