ALI-ARC front bumper...paint it???

Put an Ali-arc bumper on my truck the other day but I'm thinking there is way too much shine coming off the front of my truck...has anyone out there ever painted one of these? was thinking of going either black or Mineral grey...

did some quick photochops, I'll post them when they get approval...

Paint the bottom where the tow hooks stick out mineral grey and leave the rest alone. Or look and see what it looks like with a quick photoshop at the very least

B -Man,

Leave it as is. Anything up in our neck of the woods will peel off any paint you were to put on it - it would look worse than heck if it started peeling.

May I ask why you decided to go with Ali-Arc?

True enough...never looked at it that way...

Two reasons, It's light compaired to most aftermarket bumpers (felt lighter than the factory bumper) and the price was very reasonable (I don't buy from shops that quote one price then ask for more when I come to purchase, you know what I mean?)...plus, it was in stock, I'm an impulse buyer, If I have to wait I usually won't buy

Is that bumper aluminum? Does it have a clear coat on it so it won't tarnish? If it does I'd leave it alone. If it doesn't, you'd better do something with it. But I'd powdercoat before painting.

It is aluminium, I was thinking about getting it anodized but very few places have a large enough tank...powder caot would be the way to go but I think I'm gonna leave it as is until the summer...if I don't replace (buckstop) it...I'm on the fence at the moment as I would like a winch...

Hey man sorry about your situation. I have made decissions like that before and then tought different after installed.

I think it doesnt look good at all and takes away from the beauty of your truck. Times have changed and not to many people are hanging big ole shinny bumpers off new trucks. I think that it needs some color and ive always likes the mono chrome look as in no chrome and color matched parts. I hope you didnt npay too much for it to be shinny as oppose to painted.

I'd look into getting that bumper painted or powercoat to match your truck color.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad and since you asked im giving you an honest answer.

I mean if your one of thoes guys that goes to the local parts store and buy alot of bolt on chrome accesories and stickers and whay not then yeah it fit your truck but if you just spent $36,000 on a nice clean truck then get it painted.

goodluck

Thanks B-MAN for posting a pic of the windshield 3pod! I think I like it there...may do mine there. It might be a little more work to install...Was it a tougher install?
I think it is out of the way and still easy enough to view for the everyday driver.
