I had a viair 450c mounted on top of the tranny skid plate, ran good for a year, then died..... I now have a pair of 380c's mounted in my diamond plate toolbox, out of the weather and away from road salt/ grit. I need to get pics of the toolbox setup, but pics of the one on the skid plate are in my gallery. On my 04.5 emty fuse number 37 is keyed on, great place to run the key power to the solenoid, I also ran a manual disconnect to stop it from running when say the grid heaters are running.

Yeah, I think that may be a little beyond the capabilites of moisture and dust resistant.
I have thought about in the tool box but hate loosing the space... I wonder where I could get it underhood...
I had this 450 in my Tacoma.. it was sweet

snapped two pics of my compressors, mounted and not taking up much space, I got "stuff" for that. you can just barely make out where I notched the box lip to get the compressors in , snug but like it was made to be.

The picture that makes you say what the heck is that is the air intake/filter for the compressor. I tucked it way up high to keep it safer.

What do you think of mounting it to the actual bed between the skin and the box, up high and out of the way? would the bed material support the compressor being hung from it? I dont have a fender liner in the rear, so looking inside the drivers side rear where the fill tube is.....just forward of that, looks like a good spot.
Thoughts???

Mine is on the outside frame, drivers side and the air filter is up where it's clean. I got rid of the Viair check valve and used a tank check w/unloader port and an unloading pressure switch. Craig
