Adding MOPAR OEM Remote Start to 2007 Ram 2500 6.7

I would like to add the OEM remote start to my 2007 2500 6.7 SLT MEGA Cab. I have a few questions if anyone knows the answers.
1) If I install this myself, will I have to still go to a dealer to have any reprogramming done?
2) I understand this unit cranks the vehicle without having to have a key in it; If I then get out, and leave it running, can I lock the doors with the FOB and it'll will continue to run if I want to leave it idling while I run in a convenience store?
3) I've read the install directions and they don't look too bad as long you don't get in a hurry, has anyone done this install themselves and how bad was it?
4) Is the additional 2-way communication component worth the extra money and what exactly does it do?
If there are any comments good, bad or otherwise about these remote start units, please share them.
Thanks.
PS -- Forum Admin, If this should have been posted in the aftermarket accessories, please move it.

1- No, it shows in the manual how to set all of the functions/options you may want. including the delay for diesels.

2- If you start the truck in remote start mode. It will run untill the brake is depressed unless you insert key first and turn to run.

3- Have done several of them at my shop. The Mopar remote start is by far the best remote start system I have ever seen. Everything is color coded exactly the same as the wire it is supposed to tap into. If you can solder and use a screw driver its simple. Takes me approximately 1-2 hours to install one.

4- I don't have any knowledge of the 2-way com. device. Maybe someone else can help you out with that option. I have only installed the basic systems.

Over all. Its a wonderful system. I installed one on my 1500 Ram and loved it. Certainly worth the money.

I am located in Springfield IL area.

Yes they make a factory Mopar remote starter for the 03-up Ram, all models. Providing it is an automatic transmission.

The two-way is nice because you after the truck starts it will send a signal back and tell you it has successfully started. That way you don't have to go over to the window and try and peer across the yard or parking lot to see if your truck is running. Definitely the way to go!

That would be the way to go. I didn't have the two way on my 1500 and I didn't always hear the hong after it started.

Where would I pick something like that up? I'm very interested in remote start, but don't want some stereo shop special.

I am glad I saw this thread. The next mod to my truck will be a remote starter, but I don't want to spend $500 on one from the local stereo shop. You guys mind posting the price for the Mopar unit?
