Here are a few pics. My main goal was to keep it under the cover since I park outside. I will still lock it though.
How it started

After cleaning and installing.

Cover on

Under the cover

I still need to paint the straps blue to match the truck and hook up the hose for transfering it. But this is about 95% complete. I am very happy so far.

Well, paying $5 a gal sucks donkey b**ls but, there will be a breaking point
. The oil companies can only make so much till no one will be able to afford fuel. Then, hopefully the oil companies will see a decline in profits and hopfully the price will go down! Ya, that's alot of hopfullys! LMAO!!!!!! At any rate I doubt we'll see $2 a gal again. Think about it. Fuel is high that raises the shipping cost of things and thus screwing us there too! The government wants to stimulate the enconomy but high fuel prices are contradicting that! Its a vicious circle that SOMEONE NEEDS to STOP!!!!! Ok I'm done venting! LOL
baja diesel

hello, the one thing i am wondering is that i read somewhere that '06 and newer should not be run on mexican diesel. not sure where i heard or read that. i have yet to go south but the higher prices go here in san diego the closer i get to tecate, mexico. what about the '06 and newer trucks?

Mexico - use only fuel from a Pemex station (national). No taxes, regular sulpher, pumped and refined in Mexico. Carry extra filter just in case.
It's not illegal to fill up to 119 gallons, but it is illegal to transfer the fuel to another vehicle or container of any sort.

Be careful. My dad was telling me that back in the 70's then the fuel crunch hit, farmers were going to mexico and getting fuel cheap but after a while the demand got so high that the distributors began to dilute the diesel with oil...ANY oil...gear oil, motor oil, brake fluid and yes, even water. Id get one heck of a water separator and an extra line filter if I was you.
the reason diesel is so cheap in Mexico is because Pemex (Mexico's largest oil company) is gov't owned, and takes a loss on the sale of fuel. Pemex posted a $1.5 billion loss last year, and the company is a mess, to say the least.

Yup.
Pemex is the only stations I will go to. Iknow it is still a 3rd world country but it also is not the 70's. I am taking precautions but the fuel is actually a real good quality.
dhe9..... There are no problems with the 06 trucks. Only the 07 1/2 and newer. They have the 6.7L Cummins and use a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) that will clog up quickly.

A chunk of Mexico's diesel is refined here in the US due to the dismal state of the Pemex refineries. So it should be good.
Maybe it's time for the US government to slap on a carbon tax on our fuel exports. Dirty our air for their benefit. Braahahahaha........

I have also talked to a few truckers from Mexico that transport goods back and forth over the boarder and they also fill up at Pemex stations and do not have any issues with bad fuel. They all say the same thing "Stay away from the small stations"
MickeyB is right. When ever they cannot keep up with demand, they request even more fuel from the US.

I ran into someone in Tucson last week who was telling me about this. Apparently the fuel is dyed red like agricultural diesel in the US? I'd consider this, but I'd better go get a passport first, and make **** sure there aren't any stray bullets in my truck.
Just a heads up I was reading on a few other sites that at the Cali/Mex boarder crossings they are turning around people with aux fuel tanks/containers that are filled with fuel and telling them that they need to empty them before crossing. I'm thinking about getting the Aero 75 gallon under bed fuel tank and run the air dog in line and make a Mexico trip twice a month.
