AC problems and Parts Costs...
I've seen lots of issues with AC and TIPM (module) lately now that my own AC went out on my 06 3500. Background: went to the dealer and it's the TIPM...so far.
Anyway, dealer wants list for the TIPM...$704 plus installation of course, which is only about .5 hours.
Anyway, called my contact at Chrysler Parts Center. Dave and Brad are really knowledgeable with finding parts (center console switch over from a bench in my truck) and on pricing...TIPM $468. That is a large difference. I know I could get it used, but since the wife drives this truck and it being electrical, I'd rather get it new.
BTW, I saw some really large prices on new compressors as well quoted in my search. I know you could get them rebuilt for $180 out there, but Dave has got a price of $268 on a new one and $60 core.
Just wanted to let you guys know that, at least for me, this is a better alternative than local dealer pricing though Chrysler Parts Center is a dealer out in Kansas. My dealer said, no issue installing a new Mopar part...they won't warrant it, but I know that Dave will.
Hope that helps. I didn't list a phone so that if someone is suspicious, they can do their own internet search and find them independently from this posting.

Thank you. I talked to the mechanic and he said about .5 hours and yes, he would flash it to make sure it is working.
On another note, Dave sent me a confirmation with the part cost and shipping. Shipping was quoted at $57 in the email though he had quoted $20 earlier. He stuck by his quote on shipping. That's the way you build customer service!!

Dave let me know via Facebook that the parts are actually on their way sooner than he expected with FEDEX. They'll be in today per the tracking.
Maybe I'll have AC this weekend depending on whether my local dealer interpreted their computer correctly and it really is the TIPM. If not, then I'm in to the AC compressor and that mess...
