A brass T for 3/4 inch PEX tubing will work just fine. Lowes, Home Depot, or your local plumbing supply should have this. Don't let the 3/4 fool ya - Mr. Micrometer (distant cousin to Mr. Coffee) says that the OD of the fitting is .670.

This should fit nice with the 5/8 (.625) ID heater hose.

Hope this helps...

actually, I could not even find that, the largest barb T fitting I found was 3/8

No plumbing supply houses here, ACE does not have it. So the internet is my resource for this.

Yikes! You must be out in the sticks....

I should mention that the fitting is not barbed, however it does have 3 or 4 ribs which IMO should work nearly as well as the barbed type. I know the fitting and the PEX tubing are rated for at least 100 psi.

I'm sure you could find this on the 'net somewhere. They are small enough that they could probably go thru snail mail and the cost might not be so bad...

If ya can't find 'em online lemme know and I can ship some out to you. I think they cost me $2 to $3 per. With shipping you could get it there under $10 I bet!

I could not find the fittings at my local Home Depot or Lowe's either. Largest I found was 3/8.

out in the Sticks, not really, if you had have ever been to Tucumcari NM you would feel my pain. . .

Ok, So should I go ahead and order the plastic/ nylon. or wait around until I can find the exact piece. . as many people on here that have FAB shops maybe ill just have two made up.

I did find the 3/4 PEX part online, but I do not think it would work right, I am worried about the temp and pressure

I FOUND IT. I located the brass fitting at fast fittings . com BUTTTTT it will be close to $40 for both, being broke and all makes things rough.

So will the nylon work, I saw one person say yes, more voices never hurt

Brass Pex Tees work in a pinch, when nothing else is available, but you have to match sizes properly due to their odd dimensions.

Nylon is not suitable, since it's 180*F service limit is much lower than coolant temps exiting the hot side of the cylinder head.

I used 3/4" x 3/4" PEX barb ball valves on my '01 and my father's '05, made by Vanguard Piping Systems, Inc. I have the same ones to use on my '08, though i haven't done it yet on that one. it's a bit more complex due to the extra junk in there. one of these days i might actually get around to deleting the EGR cooler and, when i do, i will probably install them as well. These cost $5.00 each at my local hardware store (Sutherland's, if you have one close). 3/4" PEX works just fine. Both my '01 and my father's '05 have been that way for nearly a year and neither has had a problem one.

I can't find the exact ones i used online (part # is XLT444B1 if you can find it elsewhere), but they look very similar to these:

Yea but now your dead heading it. You want to get a H style heater control valve like on a Chevy 2 ton that the post office uses. This way it can still loop thru and not raise your temps on your ac system. Thats what we did for our fleet so you can get one at any auto parts store. Just PM me for more info on it.

I think that they've been installing 3 valves to essentially make it an H style. However, I had asked previously about something like you've described that might be easier and more compact to do... If you have a part number or link that would be interesting.

Got any pictures of this setup?
