Ac Help!!!

Ok, I have a black 06 megacab diesel. I'm about ready to sell it cause the AC is horrible!! PLEASE HELP!

I am new here, and I've spent some time reading some of the threads already up. Can some one point me to the thread where the part number for the condensor fan is from summit racing? How about the thread with the valve coolant line valve install?

Are there any other tricks? As far as I can tell, everything is working fine. I've had it in the shop a few times. Once they replaced the diverter door, once they checked the freon levels, once they just told me I live where it is hot...that kinda ****** me off. I leave it parked outside in the sun, and it NEVER cools off. If I leave it running in the shade for about an hour and a half, it will finally get to a level I can drive it, but it's still hot. When I accelerate the air gets cooler, but the fan does not blow harder.

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Please keep me from buying a Ford...

This Dodge A/C is the biggest dissapointment, I have a new compressor and recirc door and it's better but still poor......it takes forever to cool the truck, and mine is white. I'm so glad I didn't get the black one.
I feel your pain bro!

Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order?

Any attorneys out there??

I admit the a/c could be better but mine will run you out in just a little bit. I had an issue with the freon being low and now it blows 38* from both sides. Remember to run it on max or recirculate.

Mikey b, I read most of the threads you posted, thanks. A few questions, to see if I'm on the right page. If I put in the ball valves on both lines, but I also add a tee on the line coming from the head and a tee on the return line, before the valves, with a cross over line between them, to keep circulation going. Then I add a ball valve in the crossover, could I keep the original circulation going while cutting off the water to the a/c?

T, I run it on full blast. It's gotten to the point my wife and kids won't ride in it unless I start it early in the morning so it can get cool.

What kind of temps are you getting from the vents and are you still under warranty?

If you're getting those kind of temps INHO the a/c mods, valves etc. aren't going to give you much. You've got a system problem that needs correcting first. Even a poorly operating system should blow in the 40's.

Took it to the Dodge dealer last week. They checked the whole system, said it was working just fine. The guy told me I just live where it is hot, kinda ****** me off, and made me want to punch him in the face. I've now gotten out of the warranty, so I'm gonna try some mods.

Always do this simple test on your ac FIRST:

1. Start truck and turn AC on full blast

2. Unroll all windows and set park brake

3. Open hood

4. Look at the accumulator

5. If the accumulator never develops a sweat, your freon is low.

6. Get good ac gauges and recharge it yourself, with an accurate thermometer stuck in one of the vents, and one reading the outside air temp.

7. Add freon according to a 134a temp chart.

8. If you dont have or want to get gauges and thermometers, take it to a good shop and have them charge it according to air temps using a 134 chart.

This MUST be done BEFORE you start jacking with anything else. You cannot fix an ac if you don't know if it has a correct charge or not.

Thanks one.

T, the heat index here was 110 yesterday. With a pregnant wife, anything over 70 is just trouble.

MikeyB, What type of thread sealer did you use? I just got back from Lowes with all the hardware. I got some liquid based, but I have some tape also. I'm just not sure which will work better with the high temps. I'm gonna try to take pictures to post for step by step of the process.
