AC cycling
AC cycling
I started my truck in 90 degree weather, started the ac on high/recirc and walked round front for a smoke.
I heard what I think was the compressor clutching on and off for about three minutes.
My ac blows semi-cold for the first 6 minutes of driving and then gets noticably colder.
Why all the clutch activity?

dude the same thing was happening to me on my 06 mega, so i took it to a friend of mine that does A/C and he checked it and found that i needed to be recharged, said that it needed like a pound or two. He recharged it and now the A/C is colder than ever, and only costed me $20

I've posted here about the same thing but nobody else knew what I was talking about till you guy's. My compressor cycles on and off about 5-6 times before it finally stay's on. This is only after I first start it up and while it is cycling it will blow hot, cold, hot, cold etc. till it stays on for good. Also it only seems to do this if it is about 108-110 and higher(which happens quit often in PHX). And my compressor makes the notorious "CLUNK" even when the ac is off when I first start the truck? Aside from all that it works great, 50* at the vent even in 115* weather. As a side note, the AC dosen't seem to do the cycling thing if I start the truck and let it idle for about a minute or two before I turn on the AC???? Should I check the freon for the correct amount or just live with it......
At least yours is still working, mine quite working on wed. afternoon. It never has been very cold since new, and now it barely blows, feels like it's on low, even when it is cranked, something happened to the deal that directs the air i think, seems to be blowing the air somewhere besides the vents.
