Question ABS/Brake light ON

About 2 days ago, the ABS and Brake light turned on going at highway speed. Seems like the light only goes on at highway speeds and then resets itself. Then goes on again.

So yesterday coming to a stop at the intersection, the truck pedal went stiff and felt the ABS kick on. Scared the living crap out of me . Truck almost rolled into the intersection, but all a sudden it went back to normal. Happened at around 15-7 mph.

Drove it last night after cleaning the rear speed sensor and still does it. Speedo is working fine. But now, I have a clicking noise coming out of the drivers side front. Lifted the truck and the front drivers side wheel can be wiggled back and fourth. I changed all four balljoints out 3k miles ago.

Think the hub/bearing assembly is going bad on drivers side? I hear a clicking or binding type of noise out of the front drivers side everytime I go above 15mph. I just put new shafts,U-joints,balljoints, and seals in the front axle 3k miles ago. I can't take it to Brown's Diesel to get scanned since I am too scared to drive it with the clicking noise.

Anybody had this happen or any advice? Whats the easiest way of taking the hub/bearing assembly apart? How much is it to replace?

i would say one of the three sensors. Left and right wheel and or the one on the rear diff. I had the same problem last year and it turned out to be the one on the rear diff.

Cleaned off rear sensor and put it back in.Took front apart and sure enough the drivers side wheel bearing was out.The tire was very hard to turn and had side to side play.

Since I changed the balljoints,U-Joints,Shafts,and axle seals about 3k miles ago.Everything came apart very fast. The bearing is getting hard to turn.So tomorrow im going to try to find a new bearing and have it pressed in.If not, then I will try Napa.

My question now is,why do we have to grease the sensor? My rear sensor basically had oil around it from the rear axle.I understand the front axle having grease in them though where do I apply the grease?

Thanks,
Joey
