About to purchase CTD

Wow this is a very informative site. I have learned lots already. I have the local dealer at 41000 OTD on a Mega diesel 4x4, auto, leather, 6 disc sirius, power rear slider, etc. WhaT DO YOU THINK OF THE PRICE? Is that a fair price of am I getting the shaft??

Also I have plans on adding a chip, air intake, and exhaust. If I remove the chip before service with no traces and unplug the battery will they be able to tell?? I dont need a voided warranty on a NEW truck. Also what the best bang for the buck on the exhaust and air intake??

THANKS

That would be a little high for around here, but it could be low for where you are. The Dodge dealer in town here has some on the lot for 39k, and I am sure you could talk them down some.

Dealers in my area will still sell for invoice and sometimes less. I got mine for $1500.00 off invoice if I remember correctly. My invoice was about $9000 less than sticker. Just ask the salesman to show you the invoice, if he says no say goodbye and find another dealer.

Welcome to DTR

If you think it is a good deal take it. There seems to be a hysteria over the Mega cab. It's just a marketing tool to those who think they have to have the newest, latest, greatest. They were selling them $5K over sticker when they 1st came out. Pretty silly if you ask me. Invoice -3% is they only price I'll pay.

I bought the Cummins engine and they threw in the Dodge.

Invoice - 500 or so is pretty typical. I don't see any shame in paying invoice - rebates.

What is the sticker price? I you have a sticker price over 50k then it is a good price. You should be able to get close to 10k off of these things.

Look at my sig I paid 37,150 for mine, but I don't have that fancy dancy leather, Sliding rear window, etc. I was happy, pretty typical price but two other dealerships, one where I bought a truck from before would not make that deal I had to go to another one.

every chip leaves a trace no matter what. dealers may have to look a little further to find it but it does leave a trace within the engines perimeters. so you will always be taking a chance to void warranty when adding a chip. just so you know that in your mind

But remember too, that you are unlikely to have any problems with the Cummins. Just read around on this forum some and you will see that the major problems come when you don't upgrade the fueling system or transmission. I say take your time, do things in the right order (gauges, air/exhaust, fuel pressure upgrades, tranny upgrades, then the big power) and you should be fine.

Thumbs down Can I tear it up and fool Dodge into thinking it's their fault?

You guys really get my goat
If you cannot afford to fix it if you tear it up, maybe you should not tear it up
