8.5 steering (52122362AL) failure
This is my first post on this board, but definitely not on this topic.
Since, March 28, 2015 I’ve had two 8.5 steering upgrades (52122362AL) gone bad. The third one is currently being installed at the dealer under warranty. The failure is at the outer draglink (connects at the tie rod). This is noticeable when the steering is cycled and a physical pop is felt by touch or a popping noise/clunk when driven. The dealer concurs with my observations and swaps out the entire setup since there is no draglink replacement in their system. I’ve been in contact with another owner who just recently had his third setup installed under warranty, of course. After 6 days, his third setup has failed at the same spot. Both of us had a lifespan of 1 to 3 weeks before the draglink would fail. Maybe they were all out of the same production lot. He’s on the East coast and I’m on the West.

- Thuren Track Bar
- Carli Ball Joints
- Control Arms
- New Steering Box
