This is probably a very stupid question, but here goes. I take it that the 5.9 in the 2007 trucks are just leftovers from the previous year? So does the 2007 5.9 have the 2007 6 speed auto?

You can do an Allison conversion on the Dodges. I can't remember his screen name but someone here has done it. It's rather inexpensive too when comparing it to a fully built 48re. I'd still go with a fully built 48re for simplicity reasons.
