35s or 37s?

Ok guys, I want to get some new tires within the next week.

I just installed a Fabtech 4.5" lift kit on my truck and I am dead set on Toyo Open Country MT tires.

35X12.50R17LT
83 pounds
34.8" Tall
13.2 Overall Width
596 Rev Per Mile

37X13.50R17LT
93 pounds
37.0" Tall
14.6 Overall Width
560 Revs Pers Mile

There is only a small price difference between the two sizes, about $20.

Both tires require an 8.5"-11.0" wheel, and I will be running the H2s.

The 37 is 10 pounds heavier, but is also a 13.50 wide tire, compared to the 35 being a 12.50.

I have 4.10 gears and an auto trans........I know the natural answer will be "Get the 37s!"

Any thought, suggestions, or comments?

Those 37's might rub, and/or hit the bottom of your flares when you are turning with those H2 wheels...

That would be my only concern. You may need something with 4.25"s of back spacing, maybe not.

But, you are right, go with the 37's, and do what you gotta do to make 'em work...

If you ever plan on adding mud flaps, you won't have the clearance for 37". Otherwise they will probably fit, I would go with the bigger tires as long as you know they will clear unless you use the truck to tow lots the bigger tires won't be an issue.

37s are going to rub. If you want no issues, the 35s would work with no issues. Of course after getting the lift and tires, I wish I went with 6 inches of lift and 37s...

4"+ lift needs more than 35's to look really good, IMO.
But, your going to be working your stock tranny hard with 37's. Better plan on tranny upgrade in near future! Also JMO.

Where do you plan to put the spare? To the best of my knowledge the largest tire that will fit in the spare well is a 35.

Yeah, A 35" spare barely fit with a 4" MBRP on my 03. So the spare is something to consider. But, I think with the H2's and 13.5's they'll hit the flares and with stockers or 6"bs wheels they'll hit the control arms. It depends on what you can live with really. The 37's will look the best hands down.

37s...if they rub , put a body lift on.

As far as a spare tire , you can fit a 35 under the truck , and it`ll be fine to get you off the road and back home (less than 1 in. difference in height)..that`s what I`ve got. It`s no different than the small spare that comes with most cars , you just need to put it in the front.

Are you planning on installing mudflaps?? If you are not going to, go with the 37's. I run 37's all summer long and run 35's in the winter due to the ice build up on my mudflaps and rubbing. I hate rubbing noise!!! Your truck will look so much better with 37's. In that picture, you have 35" BFG's and it would look so much better with a little bigger tire under there.
