My lift kit will soon be done and I want to start looking for a 35x12.50-17 tire.

I just saw these, by Kumho:
The Road Venture MT KL71 is an Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck tire developed for the drivers of Jeeps, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. The Road Venture MT KL71 is designed to combine exotic looks and great off-road ability with large rim diameter sizes.

The Road Venture MT KL71 features a cut- and chip-resistant compound molded into a directional tread pattern comprised of packed center tread blocks with stepped edges, unequal width shoulder lugs alternating with ejector bars, and aggressive sidewall lugs with off-shoulder sculpturing that provide the biting edges needed to dig down through mud, as well as claw at the sides of ruts for added pulling power. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to enhance high-speed stability and durability while the two polyester cord sidewall plies promote durability.

I had the same lift you are installing first with BF MT (35s) and then with Toyos MT (35s) all on stock wheels. The truck felt smoother on road with the BFs but off road the Toyos

I like my bfgs got lots of miles out of em and i was happy with them in mud havnt had em in sand or rocks tho. And smooth on the highway

 

Those Kumhos do look pretty cool. I put the Toyo MTs on and have been very pleased with them so far. I've had Dayton Timberline MTs, Cooper Discoverer STTs, Big O MTs and now these Toyo Open Country MTs. They are pretty quiet and ride very well compared to everything else I've had.

 

I really like the look of those tires...Wish I would have seen those about a year ago when I was buying some.

How long are the Toyot MTs lasting for?

 

Depends on how you drive and how much you tow. Guys that tow heavy regularly aren't getting as much life out of them (25,000 or so). If you drive sensibly and rotate them often (like every 6,000 or so - as most mud terrains should be) then most seem to be getting well over 30,000 and up to 45,000 (or so they say). I haven't had mine on long enough to tell how quickly they're going to wear, but I asked a lot of these questions when I was buying mine.

I'd like to go with the mud tires cuz they look kinda cool but really I don't go anywhere I need that kinda thing much and mudders don't last like the AT's do so my next set (after levelling) will be a 35" AT on H2's, would be nice if I could find a 295, don't wanna go too wide.

I'm on track to get about 40,000 out of my TOyo MTs 35/12.50/20s. I'm not really to nice to them, I rotate regularly but I don't do burnouts, I run max PSI 65/60 and I tow on weekends at most.

 

i like the Pro comp X AT they have a good look and do well on highway
