I thought about it for a long while, but my better half of my brain said " they are swampers" Swampers are known for being out of round, and none of their tires wear worth a crap usually. That, and I am on a tight budget, since I will be out of a job in a month and a half, but need new tires for the truck. The pro comp buy 3 get 1 free sale is going on in some places, and I can buy 4 of the pro comp extreme all terrains with a 40k mile warranty for $150 cheaper than I can buy a set of unproven vortracs with no mileage warranty. Kinda seemed like a no brainer. My only concern is, the vortracs are load range E if I remember right, and the XAT's are only D...

My thoughts also; the "E" vs. "D" range thing. I now have a set of ProComp Xterrains. I just don't like them. They wore unevenly and are hard to balance, and seem to wonder around a bit on the freeways, and they only take 50 psi. They felt unstable with my camper loaded on back. Maybe the Extreme A/T's or M/T's would be better. I don't know.

I don't know that I would go with the MT's, as I have seen them in person and they are SOFT tires. My best guess is you probably wouldn't get more than 25k out of a set. They were designed for the offroad market. As cool as they would be, I just couldn't justify putting a set on a tow rig and replacing them once a year or more. The XAT's have a 40,000 mile warranty, which is important to me. I would be willing to bet they will last close to 50-60k if rotated and taken care of, at least from what I'm seeing of them. I can tell you one thing, I will NOT ever buy mastercraft courser CT's again. I've got 15k miles on them, and I will be lucky to get another 3k out of them. Granted, I treated them like crap, and only rotated them 1 time the entire time I had them, but COME ON.
