Well la-te-freakin'-da, an M5. Oh, by the way, "Hoss" is an actual member here so I wouldn't take his name in vane if I were you.

Oh, another Knucklehead! Diesels don't have sparkplugs!!! They use flint. So, do have the flint changed for each cylinder every 10000 miles, and the strikers on the cam every 20000, if you run hard could burn up strikers early !!!

Angry

Well Billyrae, some of us only traded their 530i for the CTD. The M5 is nice but if I wanted to go FAST, I'd take my 600hp Chevelle. Now I might be a city slicker turned cowboy-wanna-be... and I might have attended one of those universities with all the big buildings. But I'm darn sure not stupid enough to come on a site and start thumbing your nose around especially when you make so many gramatical and spelling errors in your first two posts. White collar my a**.

Second, 2500 SRW vs 3500 SRW is 10.5 ring gear vs 11.5 ring gear. You'll probably blow a tire or bend the frame before you damage rear end. 3500 (Real one ton) will hold massive weight with 4 truck tires in rear. If you putt the truck around alot and don't pull alot of weight then get a 2500, it may be easier on registration fees, and is easier to park without dual rear wheels.

Actually, the 2500's have a 11.5 rear end as well.

I think people make this mistake because 10.5 is the standard on the 2500, but if you get the Cummins option it comes with an 11.5 inch rear end. 11.5 is standard on the 3500 because the Cummins is the default engine for the 1-ton.

I have a 10.5 in mine and it has cummins. When I bought the truck I knew nothing about the AAM, and was unable to determine an AAM 1050 or 1150. After correspondence with people at AAM they helped me determine my rear is 1050(10.5). It was something about how there's a big fin on each bottom side of diff where pumpkin meets axel housing, I need to find those e-mails and post them. None the less, I have no problem loading an SW 10.5 with same weight an SW 11.5; I feel tires are the weak link.

Regards
Jeff

Just took a quick stroll through the Dodge website and the 10.5 is standard on all 2500 models - CTD and Hemi - no option of going with the 11.5. The 11.5 is standard on 3500s.

Something odd I noticed on the build-and-price site - you couldn't configure a SRW 3500. It automatically gave you DRW.

I knew I wanted a Cummins diesel for mileage, four doors for the family and the ability to haul my quad and 4000 lb boat around. Please forgive us white collar types our stupidity.
What is a M5?

I think their website is kinda screwed up. It is my understanding that the 10.5 axle is now for the Hemi engine only. 11.5 for any cummins powered Ram.

Before the HO 600 engine came out, you could get the 10.5 axle with the SO model Cummins.

Could be. I got a little suspicious with the SRW vs DRW thing. Anybody know how to tell the difference? I could run out to my 2500 CTD and settle the issue.

Just look in your glove box to find out what you have.

I know that on some of the early 04.5s the 11.5 was standard. Later on you got the option choice for the axle with 10.5 being the norm.

So, I've heard.
