2013+ 18" wheels on a 2005

I was told that 18" wheels from 2013+ Rams will fit my 2005 to replace my 17" stock wheels. Does it matter if they come off a 4x4 or 2x4?

Any 2500 or 3500 from 1994 to present will have an 8x165.1 bolt pattern with approx. 122mm center bore. 4wd or 2wd will not matter for wheel fitment, however, the cosmetic cover for the lugs and hub may be different from 4wd to 2wd.

They have more bs and may rub the control arms with 285 tires.

I was going to do the same thing with my '08.
The 18's have a +57mm offset and I didn't want the rubbing issue so I went for a set of 17's from a early '14 Laramie.
The 20's have a +54mm offset.

I've contimplated the weight gain/loss when +1ing wheels and tires.

Opinion of looks aside, rotating mass of the unsprung weight has a preety big affect on performance (accel handling and braking). Yes, alot more so in a tiny 100HP 4 banger, but weight is weight and MPG is directly correlated with the amount of weight that needs to be moved.

Some rubber is alot heavier than others so what do you all think of.. or KNOW is heavier, the amount of metal added to the wheel when going bigger, or having a smaller wheel with a taller (more rubber) tire.

I am currently running a set of 18" rims/tires from a 2014 Laramie and the fit is great with the stock 275 tires. I can tell you that for sure. It doesn't look to me like putting 285s on these rims would cause any rub.
