2006 computer unable to accomodate 35's?
I just left Lasher Dodge in Elk Grove, CA after learning from a service advisor that the 2006's computer cannot be programmed by DC to compensate for 35" tires.
First off, is this true or do they just not possess the knowledge to do it? I find it odd that they sell new trucks with kits/37's and they have no speedo recalibration?
If DC really cannot do it for the 06's, is there any experience in accomplishing this through other means?
Thanks in advance.

That the info circulating on this site. The 06 can only be programmed for about a 33" tire. No other means of remedying this situation have been found.
I rum 35's on my '06 and just know my speedo is 10% off.

Resolution -
I called my preferred dealer (Amador Motors) and spoke to Dan (service manager) about it. He said bring it on in and they would figure something out for me.
Joe took care of me once I got there and we ran into some of the same issues described by EG Dodge, but I believe we got closer to a solution. Joe looked of the revs per mile for the Toyo on their site and then set about to plug them in. No can do - 35's were off the chart, but he did get within 16 revs per mile to the correct setting so it is closer than OEM. It was his assumption that perhaps it would not be long before an update was issued to include these sizes given their popularity (and the fact that dealers are selling them that way left and right) - purely assumption on his part, but it makes sense.
I will be calling around tomorrow to find out which tuners can specifically handle this task for a 2006 - I will let you all know what I find out.
As to the guy who bought his truck lifted with larger tires, that is my question too... no accomodation (even brand new) for this - seems a tad messed up...
As for EG Dodge service department I cannot really comment as I have never had my vehicle serviced there and I never intend to. I purchased my truck from there and got a very nice deal on it due to the incompetence of the staff. At this point there is no reason for me to assume service would be anything different. Besides, I would prefer to just take a nice drive up 16 to Amador rather than go into town...

Amador does my work currently almost lost me when they forgot to put the oil fill cap on and I discovered it the next day in Idaho Falls!!!!!!!!! oil every where but they made it right and detailed tha whole rig. It also took them 3 times to get the reflash for hard atart done for me but I live in Ione so I really do not want to have to go anywhere else. Keep me posted on how things work out on stuff so maybe we can utilize power in numbers to get things right when taking our rigs in there. I really wanna keep my business local since I am fairly good friends with the owner.
My '06 Edge with Attitude programmer and monitor has a setting to program gear ratio and a wide range of tire sizes to have your corrected speed shown on the monitor. I run 35s on mine and use this function all the time. I hardly ever look at the factory speedo anymore. I checked it with GPS too and its pretty darn close.

Not what I am looking for, but good to know none the less - thanks!

Frankly, I am so **** that I usually doublecheck anyone's work. They seem like good fellas all the way around so far.
How has Dan been regarding mods in your experience?
superchip claims to allow adjusting of tire sizes on 2006 trucks and the new smarty coming out soon is also claiming this possibility. i have 295x17 now (33 inch) and they are set for 285 on ECM and within 1mph....when i go to 35s i will have to mke a decision on programmer or just know it is off.
I'm running the stock 265's still, and my speedo is off by 2mph (slower) so it is probably still set for the factory 245's. Unless you bring this stuff up to them they can't even get it right with tire sizes within their abilities.
I'm thinking of going up in tire size to 305's or 315's and will have to just KNOW what the difference is until they come out with something TSB wise to open up our computers. I would just prefer the main speedo was correct. Next thing you know they will void our warranties for tire size changes.

Who did your Kore how spendy was it?
I have not done any mods besides the tires still have not even leveled it yet cant make up my mind on which kit to go with. I think I could jsut go with the spacers but then I get greedy and want 3 inches and that requires a little more so if I am going to do that then maybe for the money I should look into a Kore or something that could improve th ride.
is yours an auto or stick if it is a stick which jake do you have?
exhaust will be next but I am not sure how to attack that yet either muffler no muffler kitty or no kitty which muffler too many options not near enough money
Which guy is Dan I usually talk to the tall skinny older guy in the window on the left.
