What is the easiest way to tell if a truck being sold,internet, is the 305 or the 325 motor? Is the break in prod. date actually 6/04? can you tell by the vin.?

mine was built before 6/04 and its the 325.

not positive, but i think production started 1/04 with 325's

 

They began manufacturing them in January 04 I believe the date was actually 1/04/04 and if that wasn't the exact date it was defrinitely in the single digits. If you can get them to take a picture of the side of the valve cover there's a sticker that says makes XXX Hp at 2500 rpm or XXX Ft LB at 2500 RPM
