2003 Air condition problems

3500 dually with 120,000 miles air co. started blowing warm. Took it in and the guy does a test on it and says it is blocked. Said the filter must be cloged and it would be around 250.00 to find out why. Could be it has sand??? from the ruptured canister. or the compressor could be bad and that could be 2,500 It it normal for these to go bad and cost this money?

I'd find a new shop. I dont think a compressor will cost $2500. Get a simple gauge and check freon level which is most likely the cause. $20 to find out real fast.
