Happened to me while on my 3500 km road trip about 3 days ago. Driver side is Ice Cold, passenger side is warm.
I heard about solenoids going bad down where the air mixing happens.

Shed some light please

Do a search on blend door or ac door.
The door hinges have a tendancy to break. I thought it was the blend door on mine but turned out to be low on freon. My recirc door is broke however.
Also, check out http://www.heatertreater.net/
Hope this helps.

Usually the warm air on the passenger side is caused by being slightly low on refrigerant.
