2" leveling Kit questions
2" leveling Kit questions
I just put a 2" leveling kit from Tuff Country on my new truck, and was wondering what some of you other guys trucks measure out at as far as side to side. Measuring from ground at center of tire to the start of the middle of the wheel well. for me driver side 41-1/2" Driver side 41" Passenger side with 265 17's I'm just looking for levelness of other trucks or if 1/2" is acceptable for tollerence as opposed to being perfectly level. Thanks

Re:2" leveling Kit questions
Hmmm.... no problems here.

The 2" spacers would raise each side... well.... 2". What I'm getting at is - if a truck is uneven after putting on the leveling kit, it probably means the truck was uneven to begin with.

I have seen reports from owners stating that use of the leveling kits has displaced their axels .5" to 1.0" in some cases from side to side. Others have had to get a re-alignment. I've used the 2" leveling kit on 3 trucks now (HD Rams all) and have not had the problems mentioned above yet.

Best to y'all
Bill
Re:2" leveling Kit questions
Believe it or not you can get some height difference by rotating the spring in the perch.
Drivers side should be higher by 3/8" to 1/2".
Yes you do need to check the alignment after.
Danny
Re:2" leveling Kit questions
Here's a Picture of my truck with leveling kit on the stock 265 17's. By the way thanks for the advice guys my shop recomended to let the springs seat themselves and then get it alligned which I am doing Friday which will be one week since the kit was installed.
Re:2" leveling Kit questions
Just make sure you take it to a shop that know how to align trucks.

The shop that installed my 2inch spacer did alignments, but the truck barely fit on their rack (tires hung over both sides by at least 2 inches), and after two alignments (one at install, one a week later after everything "settled"
, my steering wheel was still off center, and driver side tire was noticeably "toe out" in relation to the passenger side (eyeballing it), and the passenger side was more rearwardly centered in the wheel well, but their machine said it was dead on perfect.

After install of my 4 1/2 inch, they took it to a "truck alignment shop" and toe looks dead on perfect, both wheels are centered in the wells, steering wheel is centered while driving, and it doesn't want to be in the other lane, tracks dead on.

All instructions for 2 inch spacers I've seen say to chalkmark the spring and seat so springs can be reinstalled in original location. Mine definately weren't.

Kinda need new tires now, those stockers look small now :
