09 Mega Cab Plow capacities: Why so low?

I have a 2009 Mega Cab 4X4 that I would like to put a snow plow on.

When I look up the plow manufacturers recommendations for my diesel truck, they only recommend small light plows. (Poly or light duty)

If I look up recommendations for a gas powered truck, the options increase and include larger heavier plows.

So, what determines the plow capacity of my truck?

Can I add "Heavy duty" springs and use a larger plow?

Or does the size of the front axle limit the capacity?

I think we have a lower capacity than the gassers because our engines are heavier. I run a BOSS poly V on mine. Prior to doing my Carli suspension, I was running Timbrens up front to help with the additional weight of the plow. Truck handles the plow just fine with the Timbrens or the Carli springs.
