06 Wheels on a 03

I bought some used aluminum w/chrome cap wheels and BFG tires from a 2006to replace my steel wheel w/ chrome cap and BFG tires on my 2003. When I mounted the new alum wheels, the wheel sets out farther, the lug nuts don't thread on as far as what they did with my stock steel wheels.

Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Is this normal going from steel to alum wheels?

Thanks

The aluminum wheels are thicker than your steel wheels. As long as you are still getting a good many threads before it gets tight I would think you might be ok, or you could get longer studs.

The original lugs are kinda a steep taper into the wheel and on the outside part they are recessed a bit. You will see a little stud sticking into the recess and they seem to go into the wheel over 1/4 inch. Maybe just finding or buying one of the special lugs and then do a comparrison to see if they hold adequetly with the original ones. I just sold some 04.5 wheels and had to look for the buyer as he had the same questions, don't know what he ever found out though as he didn't reply to me yet.

There is a guy on here named ptgarcia. He can pretty much answer any wheel questions you have. He has helped me and a bunch of other guys with wheel questions.
