Pilots are test mules, commercial trucks (advertizing), and a sign that their bringing the 06's out early. Probably be the trucks you see in the 06 catalogs.

Stlgoalie, Whats different about them? Any new stuff other than the electrodiesel?

We know the Mega Cab is coming along with a front end refresh (ala new Dakota / Durangish headlights )

Things we don't know:

1) Mega cab in short bed only or long bed also?

2) Any Diesel engine changes?

3) Any automatic tranny changes?

 

Don't leave us hanging, start singing the details!

 

headlight changes similar to dakota, new interior similar to dakota/durango new tail lamps
only seen one so far. I don't know about the trans and we won't have the diesel back till spring

on a side note we have had a couple of orange 05's go throught the system with hood cutouts

looked like it but where i was at on the line i didn't get to see the finished product

 

can you give more details about what exactly the interior looked like? did it have buckets or bench? what HVAC controls did it have? I think the Durango and Dakota have different dashboards, which one was it more like?

 

Is it possible that only the 1500's are getting the exterior refresh?? Just like what happened in '02. Maybe the Mega Cab will only be for the HDs in that case?

 

I have already seen updated 06 HD trucks online so i dont think it is just 1500s. I am curious about the interior because since the F150 interior raised the bar, I am curious if Dodge will have a F150 interior fighter.

where did you see 06 hd's at? Can you get pics?

 

Oh the only pics I meant were the ones we have all already seen. The ones of the black camo truck pulling out from a truck stop. it was heavily camo'd with a fake looking camper shell. The front was covered up so i am assuming it is the new front end and a 2500. I also saw a side shot of a red regular cab behind a chain link fence. I was just talking about those pics.

so how about the interior? anyone got any info on how exactly it will look??

 

Of the pics I've seen, the only clearly restyled front end was a 1500 model. The one picture at popular mechanics has a front end cover on the HD, but it looks like the same front end we have now and definately not the same as the new look where the turn signal markers are below the headlights. There is another pic that I can't find at the moment that had the front end camofluaged and it was a Mega-Cab, but I don't recall if it was a HD truck or not.

 

yeah the mega cab is definately only on the HD for 06. I saw that the wheels were 8 lug, and the height of the 4x4 was definately an HD (since the solid axle is also only an HD suspension). I heard in 07 it is going to be available for the 1500.
