'06 factory alarm system program

Hello folks,
My new '06 Ram DRW 3500 Bighorn edition came with the sentry chipped keys, and on the dash the red "security" light lights up when starting, but it does not have the factory alarm programed in the truck, nor is it listed as an option on the window sticker for my truck. Is there a way to program this, or does it need to be done at the dealership? Is it even possible or does the truck need additional hardware? Thanks in advance, and I tried a search but did not come up with the answers I was looking for.

i could be wrong but i believe you need the alarm hardware installed

my 05 has the alarm as an option also but with out the cpu for the alarm it doesn't function, on your factory sticker from the window see if you paid for the alarm

No it's not on the window sticker. It does also have the keyless entry too.
Thanks RB

The security light comes on for the initial bulb check. Q, does your wait to start and water in filter light come on at abulb check? Mine do not, just wondering if its just mine or all of them.

living in AZ, your wait to start light may never come on. i believe it is only needed under 64 degrees.

I figure it should light up on the initial bulb check. We do get pretty cold Dec.-Mar. early in the morning.
