06 auto trans temp

At what temp does the auto trans warning light come on ?

Good question, I've wondered this one myself also. Rather have warning before damage instead of it being to late.

Well I've had mine to 250* and no light. So I would say higher than that.

I have heard its around 275. To me when the light does come on its to late as your trans is already toast.

From the 05 manual, 06 should be the same.

The chime tone feature will only repeat during the same ignition cycle if the transmission over-temperature indicator is cycled off and then on again by the appropriate trans over-temp messages from the PCM.

I'd suggest you get a trans temp gauge so you can monitor it, towing--not towing--stop and go-- hot days etc....so you can have an idea of what effects those factors are having on it. The idiot dash warning light thing is set to high, imo.
