'05 4x4 shifter boot removal

What's the trick to getting the 4x4 shifter boot off of an '05? Anything? Am I just dumb?

its held on by two clips. front and back IIRC. it should just pop out if you give it a little force

Thanks, 'willie. I was talking about the rigid plastic, BTW, not just the flexible boot. Should have made that more clear...is that what you understood? Thanks again.

i have an 06 and it might be different but i pulled out the cup holders, then removed the screws holding it down. it takes a while but its not to hard to figure out
