04.5 Driver door lock BUSTED!

So my driver's door lock is not working on my truck. It wont move if you use the remote or the switch on the door. The only way to unlock it is to turn the key and while turning the key pull the handle open. It stays locked all the rest of the time. From the inside pulling the handle also pulls the lock up so you can get out but it immediately locks back down. Also when opening it from the inside the door handle has a hitch towards the top and its like it gets stuck on something but does go back down to the normal position. its so annoying.
Anyways i did a search on here and found a couple of guys who had this similar problem a long time ago, but i never found out what the actual part was that needed to be fixed/what all fixing it entails.... SO, anyone know what is wrong with my truck/had this happen/know how bad the dealer would rape me for this... thanks guys...

Here is a helpful thread when the problem happened to mine. If you go to the dealer and explain the problem they will get you the right part. Door lock solenoid or something similar. I think I paid about $30.00 for it at the time. Usually if you just ask the parts guy for a price break they can work with you a little. It's not hard to replace other than the lack of room for your hand to get in there and do it. Just follow Stew130's instructions in post 15 of the thread above. Hope that helps.

Mine went at about 38,000 miles a bit over a year ago and I just bought the replacement from the local dealer for about $45 including tax. The tricky part is there are about 5 bars that do different actions and you have to put them in the right places. They are different sizes and actually will only connect in the right place but it is tight to get in and do the work. Plus I had to do mine in the dark as it happened early in the week and by the time I got home to do the work it was dark. It didn't matter a lot as most of the work is done by feel but having light would be nice.

Mine went out about 2 months ago. Same thing, inside handle sticks up and everything. The dealer replaced mine for $150. I looked online and at the parts counter and they wanted close to $100, since I was not sure if that was it or not I spent the extra $50 and let them fix it.

The latch is assembly.
