Is $36,417 OTD to much for this truck?

The $36,417 is the out the dorr price i got from the local dodge dealership.

The truck is:

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT
Cummins HO
6 Speed
Quad cab
Short bed
Premium cloth
Power trailer tow mirrors (fold away)
Anti spin differential
Big horn value group( Fog lamps, tow hooks, rear sliding window, forged 17x8 rims)
Black monotone

I believe the SLT comes with quite a few options, Cd player etc)

Is this a good deal?

Thanks.

Im located in California.

Well I have essentially the same truck, except......mine is an 04.5 SRW 3500, long bed, automatic.

I paid $36259 - 2500 rebate + 1119 taxes,fees, license etc. = $34878

There may have been a price increase from the 04.5 vs. 05's...and California may charge more in taxes and fees than Texas......I don't know. I had a trade in but that is not figured in the price above except it probably changed my taxes some.

But that is what I paid for comparison. Hope that helps.

BTW....I made them include a spray in bed liner over the rails as part of the deal.

I think you could do better.West coast prices may be differant, but here on the east coast a buddy of mine just picked up a truck like you describe only its a 1 ton for $29,500.Employee pricing and all rebates went to him.

Same here... seems a bit high.... my out-the-door was $36,500 in March for a fairly maxed-out SLT

look at the window sticker, probably around 42K, should be able to take at least 8k off of that, shoud be at 34k or lower. alltime is correct, talk to another dealer, & let them both know you are shopping around, you'll get them down a couple more $K

Give Tomeygun a shout. I bet he could beat that price but you might need to take a ride to see him to get that price. I have seen a lot of people deal with Tomeygun but don't know his final prices.

Definately shop around. We did that when we got our 01. Had a hard time finding the 2nd gen because they don't stay on the lot very long. If you are getting a 3rd gen will be a little easier. But definatelly call different dealers and see what they can do for you. We ended driving over to a dealer about 45 minutes away because they had one we wanted at a good price.

I agree with Pull U 2 diesels are hard to find in CA. I'm in Orange county and had the fleet manager drive mine in personally from Riverside, 20 miles or so. I walked off the lot at another dealer and next day the only diesel was sold (kinda takes your bargaining power away!). I paid $37000 all told for mine. Had them throw in leather, bedliner and nerf bars.

It is a great truck!

I have almost the same truck... stickered for 40,324.00, dealer in Texas sold it for 32k plus ttl. Shop around, when the 06's start hitting the ground hard and heavy, the 05s will enjoy a birthday... they will be ready to deal as good then than any...
