JR only has 4 switches.

So, Smarty warns you not to take it to the dealer with the tune installed because if they flash it it will lock the tuner.
So, what do you guys do when you take your deleted truck in for service? Say the AC goes out, or power windos?

You need to hook your Smarty back up and set it back to stock. This will unlock Smarty from your truck, and enable the dealer to do whatever they have to do.

Well it kinda sounds like from Blake that you cant switch it
back to stock without putting all the delete stuff you took off back on the truck.. Putting the pipe and crap back on will be a pain in the ***.
You will error codes flashing all over with everything taken off and
no smarty installed to disable those.

Is that correct Blake?

Thanks

Yes, I believe you are correct. if you had to go in for warranty, you'd need to "undelete"

Too bad o no one makes a lock you can put on your ECM port so the dealer can't flash it W/O your permission? If I take it in for AC work or something not related to the engine they don't need to access it.

I guess what you guys are saying is once you delete, the truck never goes in to the dealer for anything? No way to return it to stock without replacing the Regen stuff I pulled off.

Thats pretty much it.
I've got 50k left of warranty so I just took off the egr cross tube and plugged it. Same underneath, removed dpf and nox can and replaced with a delete pipe. Probably take 2 hours to get it back to stock.

That's been my plan for the past 2 years since I did these simplest of deletes... With the low miles I have, my warantee is on time not miles... Longest time period I think is 5 years for warantee?

mega-engr,
What tune and settings do you run your Smarty at? Last nite,I set mine @ Catcher #3, timing @3, and VGT @3. Is it safe to leave it like that? I don't ever beat the truck hard, just get on it once and awhile.

I run SW3 at the stock REVO setting for the Smarty Sr. I wish I had more time to play around with it and make some changes to them. I think you'd be fine with your settings especially if you are paying attention to how you are driving/using it.

I'd like to stick in SW9 and get the POD (power on demand) set up right actually myself...

I really don't ever hammer on it, I just wondered if the timing setting would be ok. Seems to me in the manual it say for aftermarket injectors. I think I'll cut it back to #2. it does run awesome though.
I haven't even tried the POD stuff yet.

I would shy away from the advanced timing settings. I have been doing some reading and it may cause a little more harm than good over the advance that the S-67 already puts in.

I haven't tried the POD either. SW5 Tq2 Tim 2 RP2 VGT2

Lil Dog, you're running the Smarty @ SW5 with no other adjustments?

AH64ID: AT SW1 40 hp you get better mileage than the "stock" setting?
I'm been running Stock setting and POD at 80% , this gave me 3-4 mpg more than before the deletes. Will I get even better with mpg with SW1 ? Thanks for the input.

Yes timing helps mileage/power/etc. Consider on my 5.9 Jr I made up to about 80-90 ft/lbs of more tq from 1600-2400 on timing only, thats free power!
