Smarty s67 programer
Finally decided to purchase smarty and dpf delete pipe.My ouestion is for Blake or anyone who knows...what is the best tune on s67 for better milage and just small bump in hp. Say around 20-40 hp. Haveing trouble understanding the smarty directions. Is there a mild tune that does not increase timing but still gives me a mild tune with better milage ?? if so what is the best number ? I have a 2008 6.7 with 26.000 miles 6spd. auto.I will be doing deletes according to your post on how to do it correctly and understand perfectly (great post) on how to procede. Denver and suburbs are real @$$ hole$ about emmisions so the calif. deletes sound best suited for my needs. I also pull 28ft. toy hauler with 2 harleys or 2 atv's 4-5 times a year. so would like a #that is good for all around use.I realize all trucks tune a little different. But not looking for any race or fine tunning needed.Truck has j-35 and has never been a problem in the past with emmisions but only gets 17mpg. highway without any load.
Thanks for any help

If you only want the minimum tune for Hp bump, you could run the SW3 tune. The added timing is part of the equation for getting a little bump in mileage. I run SW5 right now and its a nice little bump.
If you want to play, try the VGT settings just to see how the boost reacts (if you have gauges) with those. Or if you wanted to just try it on empty load, up the torque to 3 and take a rip..
. Its all about foot control after that.

S67 programer
Just recieved my programer from aligator performance they swear that the s67 is already loaded with the me software.??? It is my understanding that you need this software to eliminate the 4th injection cycle used for dpf cleaning. As i will also be deleting the dpf. It would seem that ridding the truck of this cycle would greatly improve mpg's is this correct ?
Thanks guys for the previous answers you are a huge help ! Looks like i'll be using #3 with possable timeing or timeing default if it rattles. If the me program is needed i'll ask more dumb questions soon.....
Thanks again for the help.. Mark

Easy to tell if its ME when you plug it into your computer or truck. The top line of the unit displays the version and ME or S depending. If it doesn't, using a standard USB cable you can upload the latest version of software from MADS..

I really don't know what all this talk about "rattle" is.. If this is your first diesel and never heard a 12V or 24V run with advanced timing, then I guess it would sound weird. But this is not a gas engine and won't sound like one. Version 10 of the software had way too much timing rattle and it did sound bad, but I have run all versions since and not noticed any "rattle".
