smarty questions
Hi, I have some questions about smarty that I can't seem to get answers for on the other site.
first: when you change the torque or rail pressure etc do you have to reprogram the sw level as well? Is there a way to play with those settings without having to reprogram the whole thing?
second: I don't have the egr in the truck anymore what does that do when I'm using smarty? Should I install it again? Just install the little motor? I'm not getting any codes.
I did not unplug the grey plug? Should I?
thanks
Marty

1. Any changes you make to the REVO options on the Smarty requires you to upload again to the ECM. Really, whats 5 minutes??...
...
2. Depending on what modifications you did to the EGR will determine the version of software to use. The ME software deals with both the EGR and DPF together, so you would have to do both to use this version. The non ME software disables the EGR system anyway so leaving the servo motor plugged in is required for the full benefit of the programmer. I would think the same trick for removing the plunger and leaving the rest in tact would work. Not 100% sure.
Hope that helps.

Lil Dog pretty much sums it up!
Yet, let me spend a couple words about the EGR motor.
The motor with the actuator removed HAS to remain plugged in if you want to see the full power potential. Removing the motor makes for a 40ish Hp loss.
In other words the motor CAN be removed without causing DTC's or any other problem, you will just not see the full power gain. That's as it is today.
I'm working on removing the EGR motor thing. It should be a thing of the past in the very close future.

one more last question about smarty, I read somewhere that you don't need to go back to stock to read codes. Does smarty only read code on the 6.7 or you can read and erase codes on other vehicles. I'm thinking for example my wifes Jeep compass had some codes in the winter because it was too freaking cold we had to take it to the dealer just to erase the codes.
