As usual I'm looking for recommendations from experience...The truck in my sigline now has close to 150,000 miles on the original shocks...It doesn't take much of a bump in the road to get a real jolt, mostly from the rear...My driving is almost 100% highway and in town unloaded...I read many of the umpteen thousand threads concerning shock absorber replacement, so before ordering I'd like to get the experience of others with driving conditions similar to mine...I'm thinking right now of Bilstein, but I'm clueless on exactly which ones to buy...I don't want to overspend on my limited budget, but I do want a satisfactory ride after the money is gone...

Would anyone care to help me out?...Thanks......Ben

 

While my vehicle is not the same as yours, I think they are better than satisfactory. My rig has less than 100,000, but has led a “bumpy” life as none of the roads that it has and does travel are pristine. The trip up here to Alaska was fully loaded and pulling a 28’ toyhauler. I don’t know what other brands you are considering, but I purchased mine on the thought that I will not be selling/trading anytime in the near future. Two years on the shocks right now and they still feel like the day that they were installed. It does have a somewhat easier life most days now as my 17 year old daughter puts more miles on it now days than I do. Mostly because of my 4 week on/2 week off schedule. She likes being bigger than most other people on the road. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I think that 5100? seems to come to mind. Can’t remember for sure. Ordered from one of the 4 wheel drive places online. Don’t remember which one either. Just remember that 2 day shipping to Alaska was only like $5 more than regular ground shipping.
