Im not on any waiting list for this thing and, after the last year+ of "in two weeks it will be to market," I seriously doubt if I will be on one. The hurry you ask? Diesel is $5 per gallon. These trucks in stock trim get 16mpg on the optimistic side. The DPF kills fuel economy and the EGR kills the turbo and, eventually, the engine. The Smarty is speculated at curing many of these problems. The Smarty S67 was promised from you guys to market a year ago. I think the "nay sayers" have more than a valid argument.

Personally, I was chomping at the bit for a Smarty for the 6.7L for the first few months. Then I started coming to the realization that the S67 Smarty is much like the "All-in-one DPF/EGR delete, code free, 25+ MPG" unit that Inifinite Power & Design claim to have on the market yet not a single person has been able to get their hands on: snake oil. String your customer base along long enough and eventually the string is going to break. Im am sure you guys will have plenty of sales of them when they do come to market. I, however, won't be one of them. I don't like being led along in the dark and told things that are not the truth, especially by someone who wants my money.

While i agree that being strung along is not good business practice (and i havent followed the s67 posts so i dont know), i know i would wait as long as it took for Marco to get this thing right. The 5.9 Smarty freakin rocks and Marco doesnt like to release something until he knows he's got it right, so when it does finally come to market you know it will be.

You have to understand what the problem is. Chrysler is releasing updates for the 6.7 like it's candy. There's probably been more software updates for the first year of the 6.7 than the updates for the 5.9 from 2003-2007.
Marco wouldn't be able keep up with the amount of updates to keep the SMARTY current. So he's playing it safe. Nothing worst than buying a SMARTY and it doesn't work because your plenty fine new truck program is newer than the SMARTY's, which won't recognize the software.
Some of the new Bullydog owners are finding this out with their 6.7's.

I have no problem with the wait. I have a problem with being told "two weeks" and then months later still no product. If they are waiting on Chrysler to quit making new flashes, that's all they have to say. Let us know the product is months, possibly years away from release and everyone can go on about their business. Telling people it's 2 weeks away for months on end does nothing but keep the customer in a state of limbo. Bottom line, it's a programmer for a pickup truck. It's not life or death for ANYONE. I just don't care enough to wait any longer and specifically don't like being given the runaround.

Things happen man. Think about all the other ppl wanting just like you, the 2nd gen crowd has waited just as long. Plans change and with a business like marco is running, where mishaps could occur at any moment, you have to take your time on everything. He has to cover his assets too. I know for a fact they are not trying to lead you all along, they are trying to perfect everything they have ever made. He is working on it, it just takes time (for Dodge to finish their electronic charade).

Nobody is stringing anyone along, it has been said my Me and others here that it won't be released until Dodge is done updating flashes, a simple search will show you that

All the whining in the world isn't going to change that fact.....

I am sure Bob and Marco won't mind if you don't buy their product. Neither will the smarty owners beside you in the other lane.

This is funny. BroncoHound, I for one DO understand your frustrations. I will say though, if I had to break down and buy a 6.7L(if all 5.9Ls were dead/unavailable), I would buy a S67 just because of what the Smarty dudes are capable of. jmo

Well, i don't care what the other guy has or how much HP or TRQ I put down on paper or anything like that. I use my trucks for work. And im not really all that frustrated. Like I said, i don't care enough to make a big deal about it. It's a piece of electronics. It's not going to cure cancer. It won't make diesel $2.00 a gallon. I don't like what I've been told in the past but at the same time, it's not like I had any money already tied up in one already.

One of the problems of internet forums is that what people post can be taken out of context so very easily. This whole thread is making me laugh.

Bronco, If you really don't care, why are you even commenting on it? If the faithful customers are waiting for the release, why muddy the water with slashes at the release dates and business practices? Kinda funny how if the unit was released early and didn't work its poor business, and if you wait to release it so it works, yup, poor business.......

Not the point. You selected your upgrades for your own reasons and so did these guys. I don't remember any banter about the Edge or Bully stuff for coming out early or late...

so he gets bashed just for voicing his frustration because it's a popular company around here?

the guy who figured out that levels #2 and #3 were the same on the JR got pretty heavily bashed for daring to post about the problem, until he was proven right by the dyno. even after the dyno confirmed it, there were still some who doubted him.
