New guy question

Ok so I have been reading for a few weeks on here and learning alot. I am going to buy a new truck in the spring, either something with a 5.9 or the 6.7 maybe. I have seen were you guys are deleteing the emissions stuff off the 6.7 to get more power and fuel mileage, so here is my question;
What dose all these changes cost and are they worth the cost of making them?

What are the pros and cons of the 6.7 Vs 5.9 beside the emmisions stuff that I have read about
I know that the 2007.5 and up come (some) with the exhaust brake and a few other things that the earlier models did not.

What mods would you guys recomend who has a stock 6.7

I can not speak for the 5.9L engines, since I have never own the 5.9L engine. I can only speak for the 6.7L engine.

Doing just the deletes and adding a 5"TBE with the Smarty. The cost is around $1400.00, in Aug 09. But I also believe that you will also need gauges such as boost and EGT's . You may want either fuel pressure or another gage too, so this cost should be include to. My cost for three gauges and all of the required accessories was just under $400.00.
Now was it worth doing? Yes.

I have tracked my mileage from day one when I bought this truck in Nov.07. For the first year my average fuel mileage was 11.59 MPG in a stock condition. This is in all driving conditions such as winter, towing a 5er and city driving. For a full year with the deletes my mileage was 14.17 MPG under the same type of driving conditions.

The other improvement is to the oil condition in the engine. This I monitor too with oil analysis being done. My soot level is now under .1% and the fuel in the oil is less then 1%.

This is the most important reason for doing the deletes.
