Lost all power, overhead read catilist full need service
Had a problem yesterday. I had driven 200 miles and into the Hill Country pulling a 7k rv and all the sudden I heard a "ding" and then lost most power. Overhead read catilist full need service, I had to pull over and stop. I cut key off and it was hard to start but when it did power was normal. this happened every couple of miles and I checked for codes and it read P0489 Did this evwery couple miles till I got to destination about twenty miles. most of the times I hooked up mu Smarty S67ME to clear code and it was clear. Truck actually died a couple of times while I was still rolling. This morning I checked for code and didn"t find any. Truck started normal and seemed to run good for ten miles although without trailer. I have done full deletes on this 2007 6.7 and have been using SW3 on my smarty. Can any one give me any idea what's going on. I am wondering if this thing will get me home.

Yes I've done aLL of the deletes. Today I reinstalled sw3 with my smarty and it didn't do it. I'm hoping for the best. The overhead does ding and say "catilist full service required" when this happens.
Ran great the first 175 miles today pulling my trailer, the last 75 miles was holy heck. Barely pulled the last couple of slight hills in 3rd or 4tth gear. My nerves are shot wondering if I was going to make it at all, and I'm ready to stick a match to it/.
Robert, before you torch it you may want to PM Blake Clark. He had a 2008 running a smarty before getting his latest ride and had the "Catalyst Full See Dealer Now" issue. I run an H&S Mini Max on my 08 so cannot speak from experience; however, based on what I could find in older posts, MADS has had updates from version 20me and up that addressed the issue. You may need to find and download a newer file for your smarty (Blake has those files).
One other thing to check is the 2 pressure sensor ports on the side of the tranny. Do you have them looped (or plugged) or are they open and able to 'breath'? I have read and heard that these ports should remain open, plugging or looping them may cause issues.
Just some thoughts....JB

Well, don't start feeling better yet. You said you were'nt computer savy so you've got alot of reading to do. Or consider it alittle review...
1st, go here and select your programmer from the pictures. It will take you to the download section. You don't want to download a tune, just the info in the documentation section. http://www.madselectronics.com/download.html
Next go here and read about all the quirks and such you'll find when installing a tune. Alot of good info here: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/07...formation.html
And here: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/6-...ok-inside.html
And now you're ready...
good luck, dan

I feel better now, I got a computer savy friend to update my Smarty for me. I'll get the truck done in the morning. Maybe this weekend I can hook up and run it enough to find out if this does the trick. %#*% the epa that causes all this $$#*
