Exhaust sound level

I'm lookin to jump into the delete world. Just mainly want some good sound out of my truck. I'm real happy with the areo exhaust on my 99. But my buddys 04 straight piped is a little to much for me. Trying to decide on full exhaust or down pipe and dpf delete. Little nervous to get to carried away with the truck only having 10,000 miles on it. This site rocks and thanks for any help.
P.S. Gauge ideas?? All in one digital display I prefer.

I just did the down pipe/dpf delete and left the stock muffler in place. it is not overly loud but has kind of a raspy sound to it now. It does'nt sound bad until you have the exhaust brake on then it sounds pretty sick, in a bad way.

A straight pipe 6.7 has about half the volume of a 5.9. The VGT cuts down on the sound tremendously.

As for gauges, I run an Edge Insight. Everything in 1 digital display. Just have to drill the exhaust for the pyro, all other info is pulled from the OBDII port.

The edge cts looks sweet but a bit pricey. Little hard to find them sold just as the monitor.

Yes, I've seen they sell the Insight now as the TS and that would be pretty sweet. I like the CTS layout and looks. Edge is giving dicounts for new products and upgrading from older ones.

I have a 5" straight pipe exhaust on my mega cab, it is about the same noise level as my wife's 5.9 with a turbo back 4" W/Muffler.
