dpf delete help

Hello I just did a dpf delete on my 2007.5 6.7 Dodge. My truck had quit running. Said the catalyst was full. Here is what I did, I took off the dpf and took everything out of it. Put it back on and connected all the sensors. I downloaded a dpf delete program to my smarty jr.The smarty jr said the program was uploaded. Hooked up the smarty jr and went through the updates, did the ecm update, did the torque and pod changes. Never saw an option of dpf delete on the smarty jr. Assumed it was part of the ecm updates. Fired up the truck, sounded great. Did a trip that was about 1.5 hr. round trip ran great got 25-30 mpg. Then towards the end of trip overhead start pinging with catalyst full. Truck started running bad, powered down, all the crap again. Read that you should take off the two rubber pressure sensors that are on the passenger side of tranny that run to the dpf. Took them off today, still flashing the cat full.
Can anyone help me? Wondering what else I need to do. Thanks.

It is the ME program. And how do I check which program is in it? Sorry I am so new at this. My husband is deployed and I am trying to wing it with some help from friends.

So since it is the ME program. Do you have anyother advice? Should I disconnect all the sensors? Could my catalyst be full still? Even though there is nothing blocking the back end of it.

When deleting did you follow the instructions from Smarty such as leaving the Differential pressure sensor open to the atmosphere? This is the sensor that is mounted on the transmission and has two hoses and steel tube assemblies routed to the DPF. These are to be disconnected from the DPF and left open to the atmosphere. There are other instructions I believe that must be followed at least with the Smarty S67 module there is.

Detach those 2 pressure hoses and leave them open to the atmosphere. I just cut mine. No need to plug any of the sensors back in. I packed my ends with di-electric grease and zip tied them up out of harms way. Did you only do the dpf delete? Or egr also? Is the cat & nox filter still in place?
Try unloading the smarty from your ecm completely, let it set for a bit, then reload it.
Also, read thru blakes write up, guide to deleting the 6.7, making it run right!!. Every question or issue a person could run into is addressed in that thread.
Good Luck

Thank you. Yes I detached the 2 pressure hoses. I didn't disconnect the sensor that is with the hoses. Just the hoses. The cat and nox filter are still in place. Still get the cat full on the overhead, but only when I get on it. It belches black smoke, but not all the time. I have read through Blake's post really helpful. I feel like I am just missing something.

You are supposed to remove the NOX too, not just the DPF and make the disconnections there as well.

The NAC can stay in place if you like, either cored out or stock. You only need to worry if you start running more power due to the restriction in it.
Check out carbonite website for the stealth delete write up. http://www.carbonitecummins.com/Docu...F%20Delete.pdf

Since you've already cored out the DPF then the NAC should be easy to do too. Plus you'll get better mileage after coring it out too.

Does the message clear and then come back in when you "get on it" or is it staying in?

You may have to find someone with a scan tool to clear the ovhd message. Not sure on this but good to ask on here.

I am new at this, not very mechanical, just got tired of my truck plugging up and not driving. I took the dpf filter off and punched it out completely. And put it back on hollowed out. Left the nox and cat on. Took the 2 pressure sensors off, but left the other sensors on. Downloaded a dpf delete on my ME smarty jr. The truck ran great. THEN. Started getting the Cat full message overhead when I would get on the accelorator and the truck would power down. Got some codes, p1507 crank case filter restriction. (Have a new one ordered). But then it got real cold here for days. Started the truck in the am, got check gauges light on, oil pressure not registering, loud knocking under the hood. Truck shut itself off. My smarty jr shows the codes pc121unknown, pd403 (yes really), p0700 trans control syst mil request, p0524 engine oil pressure, p1507 crankcase filter restriction. Truck won't start, not even a tick tick tick when I turn the key. It lights up the dash with the wait to start and everything like normal but then nothing. Do you have any ideas? You seem to be a genius about all this. I deleted the codes off the smarty, checked the oil level. Nothing. Please help. Thanks.

Could it be that the ME download was wrong?

To XCC Rider. Thanks for the link, that was helpful. And yes the ovhd message clears and then it will come back on if I get on the accelorator again. I can accelorate to get on the highway ok, just if I have to go beyond that. But of course now it won't even start again.

Did you follow these instructions to the T regardless if you did do a Stealth delete or not?
If not than you must reread the first two threads in this post these instructions will help you the most. I have been running the Smarty 14ME first than the 23ME since Nov 09 and I have never had any issues with the truck. But I followed these instructions to the T from Mads site but I believe these were removed recently so follow these.

You need to check the smarty version you downloaded and post it here.
The procedure to do so should be in your smarty instructions.
If not then post here how to and someone familiar with smarty can walk you through it.
It should be the file you loaded on the smarty from your computer and it should have a (.smt) file extension.
It really sounds like its not a me file or maybe a me file for the S67,not the Jr67.
As far as the other codes, I know I read a topic on either the cumminsforum or TDR forum about a lockout/no start condition that the ecm goes into to protect the engine. I'll try to find it and see if its the same condition.

edit: I found some info for you. The 28ME file for your truck and smartyJr is SJ67V606BR28ME_B.Smt
The most recent smartyJr ME file for your truck is: SJ67V606B_DRM01E.smt. The file you downloaded to the SmartyJr should be one of these files. Probably should be this one as it is the most recent update.
I found the ME delete instructions from Mads on an internet archive website, go here if you need them:
