I just bought a new to me 2009 megacab the build date is 2-09 so from what I know the Smarty should work. What I don't know is if the truck has been in and updated since built does that put the lockout on the ECM? (no update codes under the hood) What I'm trying to find out is if I hook a Smarty to it and it has the lock out program will it mess the truck up or just not accept the Smarty? Thanks for any information you can give me.

It will not hurt to try. It will only fail if it is locked. It is a lot of $$$$ to find out that way.

Well my brother has a smarty laying around that he only ran on his 6.7 for a few months but decided to wait till he deleted everything to keep running it.
So it won't cost me anything to try if i'm not going to mess something up by trying. Just don't want to end up with a truck that doesn't work. But if all it does is fail to download then I will give it a shot.

It will WORK! You may have to load the Latest and Greatest. But I wouldent Bet on it. Mine worked just fine. But I am running the ME software.
