Do you see the USB Serial Converter at the bottom of the list when the SMARTY is plugged in?

If the DM sees the SMARTY and it's enabled it should be working correctly.

Did you download the latest SmartyUSB.exe program?

Ok. This is a long shot but are you using Vista? If so right click on the SmartyUSB.exe program and go to Properties. Click on Properties and select the Compatibility tab and go to Compatiblity mode. Enable and select XP. Click either OK or Apply and try running the program again.

Is there a certain time when I am suppose to plug in my smarty? Once it is plugged in, there has to be a way to find it.
Here are the directions for installing the driver http://www.madselectronics.com/downl...nstallationpdf
This is the part I am having trouble with.

Lets update the driver manually. Did you down the driver from Mads website to a folder you can easily find? If so go to the Device Manager and right click on the USB Serial Converter (SMARTY must be plugged in). Select Update Driver and the install wizard will appear. You should be able to go from there.

When the dialog box comes up and says "search for the best driver in these locations," which one do I pick?
