Yet another Bully Dog?

I'm looking into getting the tripple dog and was wondering if some of you guy's could help me out with a few questions. If I get it without the outlook monitor can I still adjust on the fly or do I have to keep plugging it back in. Also my tranny is bone stock, so can I run it in extreme mode(not crazy larry) and keep everything in working order. Or do I need to run it on the performance setting. Isn't there like 4 settings-stock, tow,. performance, and extreme? Any comments or suggestions is much appreciated.

You can either leave the Triple Dog plugged in, or plug in to change programs. It is very quick to change. There are 4 settings as you indicate.

I ran my truck on the regular extreme program quite a bit on the stock transmission without problems. I think the Performance setting is a better choice in your situation. The key here is how you drive. I would absolutely not advocate brake boost launches or going into OD at full throttle with the stock trans. Also, you won't ever realize the true power until your trans. is modified, even stock power levels.

Thanks for the reply. This may sound dumb but this is my first auto, what do you mean going into O/D. I only have 1,2, and D. Or does it automatically shift to O/D at a certain speed?

Oh! ok, thanks. I was just thinking that if the stock trans has a hard time with the extreme setting then I would just get my BDDL with the crazy larry tune and run on performance. I mean if I can't run regular extreme then why not go ahead and get the crazy larry, so I'll be ahead when I do get my tranny rebuilt.

i've read about that stack on a truck out of California. The bullydog doesn't add pressure on tow or performance, only crazy larry so the EZ stack should work well. Adding my EZ to my Juice gained me a second in the 1/4 mile....new best of 13.96.

I beleive you need a USB cable to hook to the computer. Then go to the Bullydog website and you can download it from there. I think you might have to sign some sort of waver before you can get it so they aren't responsible if something should happen to the tranny or engine. With that kind of power that thing can put out you can't really blame them.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think if you keep the Triple Dog connected to the OBDII port, you can use it to change on the fly. Someone will have to verify that for me.

Transmission....your mileage may vary, but there has been at least one person run his auto with some high power and not have issues out of it for a long time. Generally speaking, though, the autos will hate life at anything above Performance, I'd guess. I killed my stock clutch on Extreme with my Power Pup.

i keep mine hooked almost all the time... and you can change on the fly in like .54 sec I love it! Its the best performance mod in my book... I promise, its giving me better mileage in tow/econ. mode. i got 15.9 mpg and I was horsing the crap out of it the first weekend. Im estimating 19... Im driving it kinda nice for one tank full to find out how close I am. (although tonight I laid some nasty rubber showing off for friends!)

yeah showing off for friends....

had to replace my rear tires today after only 5000 miles on the tires....be careful its addicting....

my buddies also talked me into playing around with people on the road after some lady in a tahoe tried to race us...pulled up next to a younger looking guy and took off for a miniature race...well the guy had the top off on a jeep and followed me and threatened to kick my **** for the black smoke....oops? i wasnt exactly worried about it if you can't tell. It happens all the time with delivery trucks around here with side exit exhausts....oh well...looked like the guy may have already downed a few tonight as well.
